I'm fairly certain that's the goal. They can't close the area, but they can make it steadily more expensive, less fun, and more of a pain in the ass.
 
I think it's too keep the Mexicans off that keep stabbing each other.
 
We have not been to the north end since I had my daughter, we go to Ft. Fisher, better crowd and more enforcement but I bet itwill see alot more traffic now.
 
Anytime government (be it big or small) gets involved you can count on things going to shit. I remember when the north end used to be an awesome place to hang out. I'm sure it could still be a fun place, it just sucks now remembering how it was 15 years ago.
 
I have a video tape from CB somewhere from the summer of 2000. There was a live band, atv's riding around and 4ft waves. I was in heaven, couldn't stop smiling. Now this is where we're at. I don't mind paying, but the fees were already dumb. CB police sure have some nice vehicles from what they used to drive, good for them. Do they need a fleet of hummers on 22" gold daytons or something? I've been going down there multiple times a yr for the past 14yrs. You won't catch my ass down there this yr.
 
So, does anybody have a ferry schedule so i can go somewhere and be at peace while beach camping?
 
What's it been, something like 10-12 years back, when CB Proposed, a Fee? I Local shop owner, tried to fight this. Had petitions, & even a 4x8' plywood sign, on the side of the road, advertising the Proposal. I didn't sign a petition either, but being a leader of CTB, I Did contact the Town Commissioners, & Commerce Dept. I let them know that the CTB, had always had an annual trip their, bring in 15-20+ Families for several days. I let them know the Fees Would have an impact on us. Who knows how many opponents there were, but it sure wasn't enough! Once the Fees Passed, Then, all the opposition Shouted, & got on the News. That's the way it Always is. Just my nickels worth.
