I have a previously-flooded basement room (issue resolved) that needs to either (a) have the carpet re-stretched and tacked into place, or (b) the single sheet of carpet replaced w/ the piece-together carpet tiles. The advantage to those being that I can put them in myself, and look kinda cool too.

How much am I looking at either way? Space is around 250 sq ft. How cheaply can (decent) carpet tiles be found?

FWIW, the tack strips were glued to the slab, and didn't hold w/ the moisture... it'll be a pain for me to fix them into place the right way (drill and anchor, slab waaaay to old/hard for typical nails) prior to re-stretching.
Carpet is a pretty nice berber.

My in-laws own Elkes Carpet One in High Point you can call them and they would be glad to help out in anyway

Hey Dave...I am a flooring man. I can fix you up just give me a call. Carpet,Hardwood,laminates,vinyl,...if you walk on it, I can lay it.

While your over this way...

I have a couple spots the carpet either stretched or was put down uber loose and needs to be tightened up. The bad part is 2-3 of these at doorways with bottom taped seams... do you have a carpet iron?
