Cash for Clunkers

Good point
I'm trying to decide whether to sell my 92 Suburban...or hold on to it and hope that I can get some money ready for this if it happens again next year

Another great point.

I could have taken the Suburban and got something awesome, but as it stands right now, I could have never afforded 2 car payments...and I'm thinking several folks didn't think like I did...

Sad part is...
People that did do it...get ruined credit, lose their transportation, and are REALLY screwed...

I still say that the bank bailout...everyone that was employed, should have gotten a year's salary...that would have solved everything and no money would have needed to have gone to the banks...

When the government hands out imaginary money...it can never be a good thing...

Thats what they deserve if they don't have enuf self control to make the right decisions.Thats how we got into this mess in the 1st place.People were buyin stuff they knew couldnt afford.

What about the people that paid cash when they bought the new car through C4C? What kind of $hit you going to talk about those people for taking advantage of a prime opporntunity?

I say if they were able to have the cash in hand to pay cash for it then more power to em.I was talkin bout the people that dont know how they are going to make their house/car payment and are just barely staying afloat due to buyin thing they knew they couldnt afford to begin with.

By you I wasn't meaning you directly 1ton. I was meaning everyone against the program.

I'm for it...and if I had cash in hand...I would have a new car right now...

Those who didn't have the cash...duh...learn something...
And I mean that if you couldn't afford it and did it anyway...

JR, there are different situations,I know you wouldn't buy something you couldn't afford, but in general I think the dealerships helped put alot of people get in cars they couldnt "really" afford in these economic times. I foresee another credit market disaster in the coming year or so from people forfeiting their cars they bought in the c4c program.

I've said all along that by Christmas we'll be hearing about it.
