I have an external hydraulic pump on my tractor something like this http://www.hydraulic.net/pumps_catalogs/pump_catalog_1.html?pump=Hydraulic-Pumps-Gear-Pumps and the pump itself is good but the bolt holes where the pressure side bolts up are wallowed out. Years ago, I drilled and tapped one and the rest were okay. Now the one I tapped and another is stripped. The housing is some kind of cast metal, maybe aluminum. The threads are course. I have about 3/16" of material left outside of the bolt holes (to tap into) on the one that has already been drilled and tapped and I'll have to go up a size of I do it again.
Will there be enough material left for it to hold properly?
How much torque should be used when screwing into this cast material/aluminum?
Thanks,
RQ
