Cat or No Cat?

I am curious,anyone ever run a 2.5 without a cat?Mine is coming apart and you can hear the stuff rattling around in there.I am thinking(just thinking because I don't know) about cutting the pipe behind it and finish clearing the cat out and welding the exhaust back up.So essentially I would be running a hollow case of a Cat.I have had computer issues lately,just installed a new one and I don't want to mess anything up,Thanks.

Mine is catless, I have the housing on with a o2 sensor in it, mine will throw a check engine if I run 87 oct in it, 93 oct and its fine. Its louder that normal, but besides that, I don't notice any negative affects to the jeep.

That's exactly the answer I was looking for.I'm gonna go see if I have any new Sawzall Blades in the barn!!
