Hi everyone, I'm Jon. I was wondering who was a member of the Catawba River Crawlers? I sent in a request to join and am curious how long it takes to hear back as to if I was accepted. I'd like to get together and do some wheeling.

Why to people keep adding vegas to whatever town they live in? Its freaking annoying.

Seeing that your from Hickvegas I can see why you like it. I guess its a southern thing. Never heard it till I came here. If it bothers you I can change it. :bounce2:

it's only for places that end in "ville"

So "Hickvageas" isn't really appropriate.
Oh, well, maybe it is, seeing as how it really is Hickville, lol.

And at least the Kernersville crowd uses the term K-Vegas.

True, but to be honest with you i'd rather be in Abervegas. My wife is from that area and its way nices and more deserving of a vegas then here.
 
I have no idea where abervegas would be.....

Is that Abbeville SC?
 
We feel it's clever calling our town morgantovegas, it gives it more of a big city feel. Plus we like to party. Pretty sure we were the first to do this. Of course asheville is always on people's coattails.
 
(As long as this thread is completely off the original intent)

You do know that "Vegas" means "meadows", b/c of all the grassland that was there (esp for the area) due to the aquafers when discovered by Spanish explorers.

So if you're happy w/ your town name being "Moganto Meadows", fine by me.
 
Most anyone who lives around Statesville has to call it Statesvegas to make it sound like something other than the sh!t hole of a town that it is. I lived there for about 6 months and hated every minute of it. I've always thought the whole *****vegas thing was pretty ghetto. But what do I know, I live in K town. (Kannapolis) Used to live in Charleston too but most people living there called it Chucktown.

Yeah, pretty much the armpit of the south right here in Statesvegas. But then again I think that with every town I drive through.
