I am installing a CB in my wife's razor then my crawler. Ladies 1st. I installed a Cobra 19 in her razor tonight but when I turn it on it only has back lighting. No channels, no graph, no static. Have I missed something? It's brand new.

Is the antenna hooked to it?

Antenna needs to be on a good ground as well, and be sure the Nylon washer on the mount is in place.

Brand new. Antenna is mounted to a firestick molded side mount. Ground wire is connected to ground via a jumper to an exhaust heat shield which is bolted to the frame. Wouldn't the channel position show just having power? I hooked up an old identical CB (meant for my truck) and it does the same thing. Both CBs are el cheapos but dang! Would they both have the same issue? What are the chances Or is it in the hook up?

You have the power ran straight to the battery? I’ve always ran mine straight to the battery, even the ground. It assures a great power source with minimal noise interference. Sounds like it’s not getting good power, which may be a bad ground. Try touching the power wires directly to the battery to see if that changes anything.

Battery connection, antenna connection, lights but no channels or graph

It’s not in PA mode is it? Seems obvious, but we gotta cover the basics.

Otherwise I’m stumped. Maybe you have 2 bad CB radios

PA works. Turns on and off with the CB/PA switch. I think it's just 2 bad radios. It's not rocket science. 1 was a freebie, 1 was 30 bucks or less from Amazon. Guess I shoulda went with the Uniden radios. Thanks for looking.

You got the squelch all the way up. Turn it ccw for static. Inner knob on the right. If you got a second radio, transmit, and I bet you'll hear it.

That won't fix the no display though. Id say bad radio. (Assuming power isn'i/wasnt backwards)
