Gotcha! well sorta, Dave Stucky and family was at URE yesterday and stopped by and hugs were flying! Who are the Stuckey's? This family of wheelers are the Newfield CV Joint company! and they are locals to the area(Hemingway SC) just outside of Myrtle Beach. Dave and Bonnie and their son Franklin and Daughter Hope and kids and grandkids!
When they go wheeling, THEY GO WHEELING! 379 Peterbilt tow rig pulling a 48 foot furniture trailer! With 2 Jeeps and a Toyota inside with a full shower and kitchen in the works and a loft bedroom in the making!
Oh yeah on the 2nd camp site was a 40ft Bluebird Wander lodge Diesel Pusher! They are VERY family orientated. Said they are going to Colorado soon in their caravan! They are members of the Carolina Trail Blaisers from a long time. George the other son was somewhere else and couldn't make it to URE.
George and I wheeled Rubicon,Telico, URE, and several other trails together, many have since closed. But the wheeling and camp memories are still as stronge as our friendship and will remain that way!
George was the one family member that wheeled a Toyota FJ 40 out of a family of Jeeps and set out to make Birfields stronger and did! I sent him several broken newfields in the beginning that I broke and he sent them to be analized and changed the metal makeup to improve them! 1st and 2nd and 3rd generations were broken till we have the Newfields we have now! We were timed once at changing a broken birf on the trail with hand tools only(no air or battery tools) in 28 minutes from when the jack was reached for till the jack was stowed and the Toy was fired and ready to go!
It's nice to know some nice people makes a good product and is from this side of the USA!
Just thought you might like to know!
