This iPhone 6s is about done, anybody have a bad experience with newer phones looking some direction most of the time I keep the same phone for at least 3 years.

I went from an Iphone to an Android Galaxy S6 about two years ago. I love it, and it's still going strong. I would at least try one out, also you can save a big chunk of money if you buy the phone outright from a location other than some place like Verizon. It's expensive to do that, but cheaper than paying two years of payments.

It's what we get for having a small super computer we can make phone calls on.

I have an iPhone 7 for work. I just picked up a Pixel 2 for personal phone. Previously I had a Samsung S6. It was fine, but I definitely like the Pixel better. Battery life on the Pixel has been outstanding. I prefer it over the iPhone in every aspect except size. The iPhone 6/7/8 is the perfect size. For calling and websurfing they all work fine. Verizon had Pixels for $300 off 2 weeks ago so that made my decision easy.

i had a galaxy s4 for 2 years, then on a whim decided I wanted a new one. the s7 had just came out and I got a good deal on it. My only complaint is that I cant take the battery out to do a "hard shut down".

I have a s7 active. I like it. It's tough. Takes good pictures.

If the S7/S8 Active wasn't AT&T only (really just not-Verizon-compatible) that would have been my next phone.

There's no real difference between the "normal" S7 and S7 "Active". In the S6 and previous, it meant it was waterproof, but the S7 is waterproof natively.
My S7 took quite a swim in a river back in September, while it was rockin' AC/DC on the speaker. Sounded a little funny until I got all the water out of it, but no issues at all afterwards.
The real beauty of the s7 too is that it is a truly unlockable phone, you can put it on any network*.
I bought mien from somebody on CL just 4 months old for like $300. Worth every penny.

*there are some nuances to this, they are not technically all identical so the access isn't perfect on all networks

Yea I’ve never financed a phone before. Guess maybe I’ll get on the web and try to find a deal.

I think the main difference on the s7 and s7a is the body. The active has a beefier body and is suppose to be more shock resistant. Im not really in to all lastest, greatest tech. I have dropkicked my phone several times and never broke it.

Yes, that's about it. Maybe slightly bigger battery?
But when you can get a good otter box case for $25 And the phone is natively pretty indestructible, i just don't see the value.

Mine is in a Symetry case and I've probably dropped it a dozen times, hard, w no damage.

The S7 and S8 are breakable as shit. Cyd just destroyed her S7, and it was in an otter box. Matter of fact, I've broken three phones, all in Otter Boxes. I've broken Otter Boxes, too. The Samsungs are good phones, but I don't know who the fuck thought it was a good idea to make a phone entirely out of glass.

I just bought the old Pixel because it's pretty durable and has a headphone jack.

I'm not sure if you can still buy them but I've had my s5 for almost 4 years and it's still going strong. I've gone through 2 Lifeproof cases but never damaged the phone. Occasionally I have to take the battery out to do a hard reset and the phone looks brand new inside the case. I am very rough on phones. If I had to guess I'd say mine gets dropped on concrete at least twice a week and on other surfaces more than that

S7 ATT and S7 Verizon are different due to CDMA vs GSM frequencies or something. I like a phone to be as slim as possible, so when you put a case on top of a case, it only makes it bigger. Having a durable case built in and a larger battery seem like a real winner, plus I'm sure there are other little things they do to make it tougher.

The iPhone 8 is the same as the iPhone 6 got one and returned it within the 2 weeks. Only has “new Snapchat filters” b.s. stuff you don’t use. iPhone X is supposed to be better but for $400 more who knows. I like the pixel2 but hear they had issues and bend easy.

If you can’t tell I’m fighting the same battle right now. Everything at work is apple so that makes it harder to go to android/google.

My I phone 6 is taking a crap now too. I think I'm gonna have the battery replaced before I go looking for a new phone.

iPhone 7 and 8 are waterproof, 6 is not.

Damn, am I the only one who's phone was the freebie because he went with what ever plan fit the bill?
I couldn't even tell you what it is.....other than it says LG on it and my wife curses its not MAC book way of working.

$40 Moto g4 from Dollar general. Verizon special price (locked to Verizon for a year) decent camera. No real complaints. And when it gets run over, crushed, slammed in a hood, just go buy another one and stick my sim and sd and done.. longest one so far had only made it three months before inoperable by owner error. Dropped many times, no problems with falls, just with stupid stuff, leaving on roof, shut in tailgate, etc. Only has a cheap screen protector on it so I can change it when it's unreadable and it's like I got a new phone again.

every time a new iphone comes out it seems that they throttle the current model.... iphone 6s for me is getting too laggy.

switching to a china android dual sim flip phone next when this one gets enough cracks in the screen.

Apple got caught red handed and admitted they were slowing down the old phones with software updates. There are a bunch of lawsuits over it already.

How else are they going to make you pay $700 for a new iPhone every few years? People can't even pay their rent, but they have to have that new iPhone (that costs as much as their rent).

Buy something from Motorola or Samsung (I'm partial to Motorola, but I know they don't make the best products in the phone performance hierarchy). I only buy mid-range stuff, and it suits my needs fine. No one really needs a $600-900 phone for internet, phone calls, and texting, but they sell like crazy.... Spend like $250-300 and get all the phone you'll ever need. Then buy another one in a few years when that one gets accidentally destroyed. I'm not in high school or college, so no one judges me based on what type of phone my parents just bought me.

Funny, I got pissed and threw mine across the shop yesterday and it just bounced. A week after I got it, it fell into the heat shield on our zero turn mower and rode around awhile. Ive got mine in a pelican case that has bounced off some rocks on dickey bell and its still trucking on.
