If the S7/S8 Active wasn't AT&T only (really just not-Verizon-compatible) that would have been my next phone.I have a s7 active. I like it. It's tough. Takes good pictures.
There's no real difference between the "normal" S7 and S7 "Active". In the S6 and previous, it meant it was waterproof, but the S7 is waterproof natively. If the S7/S8 Active wasn't AT&T only (really just not-Verizon-compatible) that would have been my next phone.
I think the main difference on the s7 and s7a is the body. The active has a beefier body and is suppose to be more shock resistant. Im not really in to all lastest, greatest tech. I have dropkicked my phone several times and never broke it.There's no real difference between the "normal" S7 and S7 "Active". My S7 took quite a swim in a river back in September, while it was rockin' AC/DC on the speaker. Sounded a little funny until I got all the water out of it, but no issues at all afterwards.
The real beauty of the s7 too is that it is a truly unlockable phone, you can put it on any network*.
I bought mien from somebody on CL just 4 months old for like $300. Worth every penny.
*there are some nuances to this, they are not technically all identical so the access isn't perfect on all networks
Yes, that's about it. Maybe slightly bigger battery?I think the main difference on the s7 and s7a is the body. The active has a beefier body and is suppose to be more shock resistant. Im not really in to all lastest, greatest tech. I have dropkicked my phone several times and never broke it.

S7 ATT and S7 Verizon are different due to CDMA vs GSM frequencies or something. I like a phone to be as slim as possible, so when you put a case on top of a case, it only makes it bigger. Having a durable case built in and a larger battery seem like a real winner, plus I'm sure there are other little things they do to make it tougher.Yes, that's about it. But when you can get a good otter box case for $25 And the phone is natively pretty indestructible, i just don't see the value.
Mine is in a Symetry case and I've probably dropped it a dozen times, hard, w no damage.
time a new iphone comes out it seems that they throttle the current model.... iphone 6s for me is getting too laggy.

Funny, I got pissed and threw mine across the shop yesterday and it just bounced. A week after I got it, it fell into the heat shield on our zero turn mower and rode around awhile. Ive got mine in a pelican case that has bounced off some rocks on dickey bell and its still trucking on.The S7 and S8 are breakable as shit. Cyd just destroyed her S7, and it was in an otter box. Matter of fact, I've broken three phones, all in Otter Boxes. I've broken Otter Boxes, too. The Samsungs are good phones, but I don't know who the fuck thought it was a good idea to make a phone entirely out of glass.
I just bought the old Pixel because it's pretty durable and has a headphone jack.
