I have been with Sprint for 13 years. It has been okay to say the least.
My current phone is a lg optimus 4g because i need my work email to hit it at real time, not tomorrow.
And it sucks at that also.
The rest of the story is as follows..............
Dropped the damn thing last night, fubar til i can get it fixed on Tuesday.
And no home phone= i can't call anybody.
Wife is in LA, one kid in TX and one in TN.
Bullshit.
Bought a ghetto burn phone @ Wallyworld today, Verizon brand and it works good so far.
Is Verizon the way to go?
Opinions please.
Thanks, Paul...

I'd say Verizon or AT&T. I have AT&T and my wife has sprint. I have LTE all over the area whereas she rarely has 4g it seems. We both have iphone 5's. I know some of the guys at work really like Verizon. I use my iPhone as a hot spot too and the packages AT&T offer are better than Verizon so that is why I have stayed with AT&T.

Just got a smartphone a few months ago, but have had Alltel/Verizon for 10 years I guess. I get upset once in a while when I start scrutinizing my bill, but never had any major problems with them thru all these years. Been without a home phone for 6-7 years now.

I've had Sprint for 12 years now. My experience seems pretty similar to yours and ABAdJeeper's. It's mediocre at best. However, no other wireless can offer me a better plan at a cheaper cost. So I accept Sprint's mediocrity with the hopes that one day it'll get better.

Verizon has the best coverage bar none.
They are also the most expensive and have the worst customer service.

But I need my info coming through and I pay for the crack they serve.

You can check out t mobile too. Just depends on where you use it. Much cheaper than Verizon.

Sent while I should have been doing something constructive...

this is pretty much it.
It comes down to:
Do you want great, reliable access that works anywhere... and pay through the nose for it?
Or, save $$, and not have as good coverage?

Check into the prepaid services that use Verizon service & save a bunch. We have Net10/Straight Talk, but are using our old AT&T phones & service is the same as we had before. These two use Verizon if you buy the correct phone. I think Virgin Moble does as well. Contract service will hopefully go away in the next few years & we can start to get better deals on service.

I've had Sprint since 99. They are not the best, but have always been the cheapest unless switching to prepayed.

That is amazing that things have changed so much since I sold Cingular service about 12 years ago. Back then, the pre-pay ended up WAY more expensive (thus the incentive to switch to a contract).

We are on Verizon because I got a 20% discount when I worked for Ecolab. 3 years after Ecolab let me go, Verizon finally asks me to verify employment to keep my discount. We had to switch the contract over to my wife's name since she is employed at the hospital and still gets the same 20% discount. Never even thought about looking into pre-paid. Now you have me thinking......

Been with Verizon since '07. I pay a ton since I don't share a plan with anyone. It sucks to pay as much as I do, but it's always there when I need it. I've thought about cheaper services but I just don't want to give up a sure thing. Verizon is the most expensive cause they are the best. I used to supply telecommunications equipment and did a lot of business with Verizon. They're super picky about their equipment and keep a very high standard for their operations and had the nicest Central Offices and Switching Stations I had ever been in. Did business with AT&T and T-Mobile as well. All I can say is I will NEVER switch to AT&T.

Verizon all the way. I have been with them for 11 years and the service is hands down the best. There customer service sucks but that doesn't bother me because I have never really needed it with Verizon like I did with sprint and at&t. I travel a lot and my phone is kind of my life line. That's why I use Verizon. Service always works and let's me make a call when I need to make a call.

I've got the 2g flip phone, & AT&T. Coverage sucks, unless your in a big city. They tell me I have 5 towers covering me, but it's hard to get a signal, in my house, & I drop calls. Plenty of Dead areas in Gaston Co.
Haven't experienced customer ser., with Verizon, but I can't see it being any WORSE, than AT&T. Spend 20-30 min., getting them on the phone, & they Always have to transfer you, & you get dropped! Go to their store, & they put you on a waiting list, usually 30-50minutes! Everybody tells me to go to Verizon, & I-Phone, or similar.
