Anyone ever chained a engine down with the header bolts?
How did it do? I have had a few people recommend this to me.
The motor mount is good its just the block. Ripped the head off one bolt, it will come out, but the other one broke off the side of the block Its for a ford 5.0

Bad idea using the header bolts. Those bolts go through extreme heat cycling (hence so many leaking headers and exhaust manifolds). FAR TOO OFTEN, these bolts are brittle enough to break just from the heat cycles (upon extracting, not just statically). I'm not at all surprised you say you broke one.

Chaining a motor down is usually done in addition to stock motor mounts. It limits the twist and compression on the mounts while still giving the motor room to flex around and not be too rigidly fixed in the bay.

Usually people will pick up a lift eyelet for a place to attach a chain. One of the stock sheet metal brackets used in lifting/lowering the block. If your motor doesn't have those anymore, then maybe you can find where some of the accessory brackets mount to the block.

Ditto...

My 304 is chained on the drivers side... got tired of trashing drivers side mounts every couple trips. I used a section of 1/4" welded link from the engine side motor mount bolt down under the frame to the frame side mount. During normal use, it does nothing. However, once it gets hooked up/torquing, the chain taunts & keeps the rubber mount from pulling in two...

While it's been labeled a "bandaid" by several, it definitely works & kept the mount alive for the past 6-7 years, where I replaced dozens the first 2-3 years...
