I know this seems elementary, but did a search and cant find anything on changing universal joints...i'm getting a vibration and I thought I would start there. I know there should be a C clip someplace but mine seem solid on all four sides. Do I have to pop the caps off to find the C Clips?

the c clips are on the inside of the cups. not the outside.
clean off the dirt and you will see them.
if you have a new one you can see the groove on the cup that the clip goes in.
pretty self explanetry after that.

On that runner I think the vibration is more of an angle problem, not a bad joint. When me and my buddy built that thing we never got around to putting a c/v joint on the driveshaft.
You need a c/v on the transfer case end and that should fix your problem.
