Anyone go to this? I went last night, alot of nice new rides out. The new Jeeps are garbage. I didnt know they downgraded the motor in the wrangler to a 3.6, everything is plastic on em and they just ruined em. There is no rugged feel to them at all and it seems like it would take alot of money replacing everything just to make it off road worthy...

On the other hand, Ford had a Raptor truck there, by far one of my favorites at the show. It had fox dual resevior shocks, 6.2L (11mpg!!) and 35" tires stock. Very solid rig.. Too bad it was a Ford.

Then there are the cars. Ive noticed alot of the newer cars seem very difficult to work on. The engine bays are so crowded and they all have this plastic molding over the motors covering all the parts. My favorite part was the classic car section.

Yall check out it today if ya have a chance, its only 8 bucks!!

Crowded? Why whatever do you mean? (Engine cover removed)

That looks sooo much better. I hope you leave that stupid cover off. Is it still an I6?

That 3.6 v6 is an enormous upgrade from the 3.8, just cause its smaller doesn't mean its makes less power. It makes around 80hp more but the new automatic transmission really compliments the setup.

Had to put the cover back on. (It just pops off anyway) Under all those hoses is a reverse flow, twin turbocharged 4.4 liter V8. The two silver boxes are water to air intercoolers. It has 4 water pumps hidden in various places and 2 separate cooling systems. (One for the engine and one for the intercoolers.) And it's a BITCH to work on! Fortunately it's been pretty reliable thus far.

4wheeler or petersons did an article on the new 3.6 a few months back, and it is big upgrade not only more power but more power at lower rpms which is what you want in a jeep.

Anybody see our handicapped equipped Grand Caravan in the Dodge area? I had to babysit it from 2-10 pm. Kids loved it, what with the ramp and no mid row seat. They were running and jumping through it all day.:bounce2:

That new 3.6L engine is also in the new mini vans with a 6 speed automatic. When you stand on it it sounds like a dirt bike shifting. Stays right in the sweet spot of the power band. With that being said, it aint no powerhouse. Torque management provided by the PCM keeps you from having full power at low speeds where you would be tearing stuff up. I would imagine you can get it reflashed and it will be better. May have to run premium with it.:shaking:
