Hey guys, just joined. Right now im building a Twisted customs chassis. I am also planning on moving to charlotte if the job goes through and i take it. The question i have for people living in the area is how is business down there busy? I am from michigan and its getting quite slow so that why im looking to relocate.

What kind of business?? That might make a big difference. I would personally stay away from Charlotte. I worked there for about 3 months, the commute was terrible, and it was too busy in my opinion. But I also think NC is a great state to be in, personally.

Business is booming!! We are the banking capital... Also, we build stadiums and arenas before we work on more important things like roads and public transportation.

Business is good.
I am in construction and all the "bust" has done is slowed growth from 45=% don to around 15% year over year...

In the first 7 months of this year, we've done 20% more than we did in all of last year.

Had a guy (James) just move down here from Michigan a little while back. You will have plenty of BMW's to work on in charlotte for sure. :shaking:

BMW's galore in charlotte

no offense but you are working for the wrong company or have the wrong niche....

Not my experience at all...

all my builders have stopped building, and the projects that need finishing(trimmed out, they want me to finish and not pay till they sell?sounds like they are taking draws to pay their own bills and dont have enough left for their subs.,ive been working for these general contractors for 4-6 years with no problems until now...glad to hear works still good on your end.

Very common right now in Charlotte. Im in sales and every electrical company I go into has laid off most of the workers and is struggling to make it.

It's an election year and the construction industry always slows down during election years. Everyone wants to wait to see what the future holds with a new Prez.

resi work is slower, but commercial/industrial is wide open.
I know elecs turning down orders right now.

Also higher end homes seem to still be booming, in my experience.
