Anybody plan on hitting up the Charlotte LKQ anytime soon? They are showing '78 Bronco that I wouldn't mind picking some parts off if they are still on it. I just don't want to drive down and it's already stripped. They also show a '79 F150 as well for anybody looking for that stuff.

If I don't get called in tomorrow, I could run by. Haven't been to any Yards in a long time! What are you looking for?

I didn’t know you could pick your own parts at LKQ? Am I that stupid or has that changed? I was thinking it was like Co-Part when they inventory and sell everything as they pull it.

No biggie if you can't...butttt...
Headlight buckets and grill stuff, hood with hinges. Honestly I would probably buy more stuff than that, if it's in decent condition. I just went to the LKQ in Greer Tuesday to scrounge parts for my '97 F350 with my dad......it's worth the $3 just to go walk a junkyard sometimes!

They also show some 6.0 chevy trucks as well

You sure can....they have the wheelbarrows, pull carts and motor pulling crane. they may pull parts for other yards and deliver?? Not sure about that. I don't think they inventory anything on the yard....I called their main telephone number and they just tell you if it's still on the yard or not. I don't think you can actually call the yard and ask whats left on a vehicle.

So it’s just like Pull-a-Part then in Winston. I had no clue.

Is the LKQ in Charlotte the pull a part on tryon? I can spend hours in there. Just do not leave anything of value in your car or truck. If you have a beater, take it instead of a nice car or truck.

Haven't been to the Tryon site in years. Last i heard, you best go with a friend & carry a Gun!. LKQ is off Hwy 16, back towards the Coke Cola plant. The front side is off the 85 service rd., for tractor trucks. Rear entrance off Chesapeake Dr., for the cars & trucks. They used to have 1 day that was 1/2 price. May still do.

They are a pull-a-part but you can order stuff online from some stores. They have delivery trucks but I'm not sure if that's for the public. $3 to get in, bring your own tools

maybe labor day sale or something like that....@jcramsey knows what the one in Charleston does. I would assume they all do the same.

I've been to the one in Charleston a few times. New Years, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day usually have a 40% sale. They've got an app so you can set alerts for specific vehicles that come into the lot.

Occasionally there will be somebody in the parking lot with a smoker selling some BBQ 🤷‍♂️

Save your time & trip, unless you just wanting to look around! Got out there about 2:30. I looked the vehicles up on their site, last night, & noted their location. So I looked, & looked, & asked a couple guys, if I was in the right area. Bronco is Gone, & no explanation. Guy at the check out said they hadn't moved / scraped anything today. It's also Off the list now. No other Bronco out there. I Thought I had missed the 79 F 100, until I checked their pictures back at home. The Whole front end is gone, & I didn't even recognize it as the same truck. I don't see anything usable, other than the rear axle & driver door. I Was disappointed in the Selection, there. Few Ford or Dodge trucks; nothing really old, or new, just average. Plenty of Chevy's. [Wow] I ran across a CJ 5, with actually a fair body! A 79 CJ 7, really stripped, & cut up! Several Patriots' & a couple Commanders.
I remembered I need some speaker cloth, & the best thing I found was 1 lonely 6x9 speaker, laying out. I couldn't pull the cloth off, so I thought, what the heck? 50 cent, or a dollar? Hell No! $10! I told the guy I just needed the cloth. He said well you can return it for a refund, [with a wink]. Ok.
