Charlotte metal supplier

I am needing a large piece of steel for my senior project at UNCC and I know a lot of you work with metal every day, so i was wanting to see if any of you have a metal supplier around Charlotte that you would recommend. I need a 2in by 5in by 24in piece of steel if that information helps any.

Metal super markets may have a chunk in their inventory. Take a drive over there. They are off of Sunet Rd. by 77 in the industrial park. Real nice guys.

I've seen them bigger, friends from when I worked at injection Mold making. I remember we went to Monteagle (??) and you guys picked me up at work (off Beam Rd) back way early 2000s and Wes and your jaws were on the floor for the steel stock on the shelves.

Stock car steel used to give discounts for the senior designs projects when I was there.

No luck of steel at my friends shop but he said he could order it for $170.00

That's a pretty big chunk of steel. Does it have to be solid, or could it be made from 2x5 rectangular tubing? What's the application? With more information, there might be some people on here who could think of a better way. They might have even been through the UNCC engineering program.
