Cheap tow rig on CL

I'd rather have that 7.3 than this 6.7 that'd in my ton truck.

Good tow rig for somebody
2001 f 250 diesel 7.3

But it's 2WD..... every time someone asks about a 2WD tow rig, people on here act as though it will cause polar ice caps to melt, puppies to die, clowns to frown, Wendy's to start putting gouda on burgers, cats to play the piano and the terrorists to win.

Other than that, it looks to be a great deal.

We live in a funny world when a 15 year old, 2wd, low-option truck with 1/4 million miles that needs paint is a "good deal" at $6500 o_O

Im rockin a 2wd tow rig,the only trouble Ive ever had was at the Gulches when we got caught in a downpour and couldn't get loaded up and gone before the red clay parkin lot turned to mud and the first open invite at the gulches.I got stopped on the hill pullin into the park and my one wheel bandit couldn't get goin again.Never had a 4wd to tow with but I have to have 4wd in a work truck. If this one was 4wd it would be ideal for me.

Yeah but you still have folks wantin that much or more for 20 yo trucks.I see early 7.3's (non ps) that have a 8-10K price tag on em.

People are willing to pay crazy money for a 7.3 with under 300,000 miles and in good shape. Had my truck at my cousins body shop and got called 7 times asking if I would sell my truck. Was offered 11,000 as is

You can have mine for $11k, and its a 6spd manual with 210k on the clock!

why would anybody ,at any price buy a 6.2 or 6.5 and try to use it for a tow rig.

I found another winner. It's truly a classic, one of a kind. Who wants a WT package for $16 grand?

1998 Silverado 4x4 6.5L Diesel 5 Spd

That price is absurd but that's not a WT package truck. Those fender flares are two-tone painted, not black, it has all the proper chrome and all the power doo-dads in it. It seems like it was obviously someone's special order from long ago. One of a few, probably not one of a kind, and certainly not even worth half of the asking price.

True enough. Those had to be factory. Still, that's a stratospheric price for a motor that makes a 305 feel like a powerhouse.
