Cheapest MT tires?

I need a set of tires for my truck, in either 33x12.15 or
33x10.5x15.
I have called around to check on some of the cheaper name tires, but I have discovered that the dayton timberline MT and the medalist mud king have been discontinued. I called Wholesale Tire Distributors and they told me they do not even sell 33" tires anymore except in the fall! Maxxis buckshot mudders are $200 a piece and I have not found a cheaper quote than $850 for a set or 33's, and those are Cooper's. I'd love to find a set for $600 but it doesnt look like thats going to happen. Does anyone know of any other "off-brand" MT tires that are cheaper than the big names? Does anyone at least know of any tire shops in the Triad area that will try to help me? Thanks!

Call Baity Tire In winston salem and ask for their cheapo MT, its a buckshot mudder but it was like 158 each I thought.

I know several people running the Wild Country MTX with very good results.

Keep in mind that the cheapest tires can be the most expensive option.

Cheap tires may last 20,000 miles and need to be replaced

Spend 50% more and tires last twice as long - which means in the end they are cheaper

I llike the goodyear MTR with kevlar, but the BFG AT KO is a good one also. If you really want them to last get 5 and rotate the spare everytime you do an oil change.

I feel the need to second that. I've had a set of Goodyear MTR's on my Tahoe for about 4 years. I bought them used off a Rubicon. I have been surprised at how long they have lasted.

I have had 31" procomp xtreme a/ts on my 4cyl tj for 51k now and still have maybe 10-15k, started with 18/32 and I have 6-8/32 left on them. I know they are an a/t but they have a pretty blocky tread. Idk the price on 33s but if I can ride on a set for 3+years with out rotating the spare in i'll buy them again. They are directional so you can only rotate front to back.

Tread pattern on the Goodyear MTR is nice, but damn I hate that sidewall! :( Those are probably what I'll go with though. Still $800 worth of tires new. :( Didn't want to go BFG cuz it seems every rig I pass has a set of BFGs on it.

Who is that? Thats by far the best price Ive seen. Does he mount and balance if I buy a set of 4?

Here is the main website.

I called him a while back and he said he would meet me as far north as Concord or Kannapolis I think. I can't remeber. It has been a while. I was planning on just buying the tires from him and mounting them myself.

I called but there was no answer so I will call him back soon. Does he stock these tires? Id love to get a set tomorrow. Im nervous though, the home page of his website says prices on the site may not be accurate due to rising prices.

Call The tire center of Birlington at (336) 226-0206

Or RAD performance in Greensboro at (336) 378-6900

I have found these two places are the cheapest places in greensboro area for tires. I got my Cooper STT 35X12.5's from RAD for $810 that included mounting and balancing.

I ordered a set from tire doctor and they are mounting and balancing them for me in concord tomorrow morning. Drkelly, I owe you a beer.

wish i woulda saw this post before today.. coulda got you a hell of a deal on cooper mt's . getting my brand new set of 37's for $277 a peice. think my buddys 33's were 140 a peice.

I'll be needing some soon. PM me some details.

As I said in my previous post RAD performance in Greensboro has excellent prices on Cooper STT's I got my 35x12.50's for $810 and that included mounting and ballancing. That was in January so prices may have went up some but I would give them a call if you are in the market for tires.
