Pulled apart a Dana 35 yesterday, and this is what the inside looked like:

The metal floating around did a number on the gears..

Those pics look about right for a D35. At least thats what the inside of mine generally looked like everytime I took it apart.
 
i see a 8.8 (or 9", D44, D60, etc...) in your near future....

It will be just about as cheap as fixing the D35....and better in the long run.

Gino is just fixing it for the guy. I think the guys wants to go back to stock.(3.07's)

Looks like some of my handy work but i think that mine was more burntfrom no fluid ha ha:beer: :beer:
 
Hey, Ive got some 3.07's sitting in my shop if he needs. With the carriers.
 
Thats what happened when mine took a dump. It makes a great noise going down the road with all that grinding noise. My built 8.8 was a good cure for that.
