...again.

I got hit for a few hundred bucks worth on online shopping in the past five days. 2nd time this has happened in the past year.

They reversed the charges, of course, but I had to cancel my card last night, and now waiting for a replacement in a couple of days.

I'm thinking it was swiped at one of two restaurants I went to in late January, first charge was 1/28.

Grrrrr.

I check my activity online once a week now. Makes it easier to straighten out if it's recent activity (and fewer of them).

same thing happened to me a few weeks back. someone bought an expensive coffee maker from some place called green mountain coffee. wells fargo gave me my money back though

That sucks, I've been hit once, same as you, they took care of everything for me, but still a hassle having to change the card, new number, and just having to deal with it in general. My charges originated in a computer store in France...an in person charge, not online shopping...odd somehow I charged a tank of fuel that same day in Raleigh, and jetsetted over to France to buy a computer in a matter of hours.

I had a scare this morning, saw a $16.52 charge from "Wham Investments" at first I was like "wow that sounds like a scam"...then dug around and pulled out a receipt for $16.52 before tip from East Coast Wings this weekend, so that made me feel better, but what an odd name to show up on my activity.

I have never had that happen to me. But I check all my transactions daily. On both my ATM/debit card and my credit card. I already spend more than I should e anyways, I don't need someone else spending for me!

Sent from my microwave using a teleportation device.

Just went/going through this with my wife's CC. Our credit union caught the first $1 charge from some motel somewhere and the following Macy's charge and locked the card. They refunded the money immediately and are in the process of issuing a new card. I dropped a 90 day fraud alert on her SS# just in case.. Damn crooks !!!

Yea, has happened twice to me, about a year apart. I have credit monitoring on my cards; it Works. Thinking the first, was after using the card online. Call from Discover, about 2 charges, from some foreign country. First was $2, think they were checking; then a "transportation" charge [WTH], for $1200. Disc., refused the charges. 2 weeks ago, call from Visa, inquiring if I knew about a $1600, in Egypt? Hell NO! Thing is, I can't remember when I've used that card; been maybe a year!
Glad I got Fraud Alert! No cost to me!
