Besides the 2.5 4 cylinder, the 258, and the 4.0 I6, what motors came in the XJ's, Yj's, and TJ's.? I'm looking a Jeeps for my kid. I know to stay away from the old 2.8 ltr V6. Was there another V6 offered later?
I see ads saying a Jeep has a 4.0 V6 and when questioned the owners give weird answers.
 
The late model JK's have a v6, but to my knowledge all wranglers were inline sixes. As far as the:poop: 2.8 goes, there are 2 types. Those that have blown up and those that are about to. One of the most piss poor excuses for an engine ever produced.
