I'm trying to cure the death wobble in Dad's XJ before it gets too bad. I know the uppers are bad, and likely the cause, but I'd like to do them all if I've got it apart, including the trac bar bushing. So I've got two questions:

1) Where is the best/cheapest place to get them, and what all do I need before I dive into this? O'Reilly has the bushings pretty cheap, Quadratec may be a little cheaper until you add shipping. Exception being on the entire control arms, Quadratec is significantly cheaper for those. Which leads me to my next question...

2) I'll be borrowing a lift and shop for an evening. Would I be best served doing the whole arms instead of futzing around with pressing out bushings? I know I'm going to have to get the fronts out, and I'm already not looking forward to that, but are the rest that bad? And does anybody have any other tips regarding this? Thanks a lot, guys!

1-take the track bar loose from the axle before you lift it for easier removal and remove the 3 bolts for the trac bar bracket and remove the whole assembly as the upper mount is a tapered mount/joint. 2- the complete control arms are much easier to replace as its 2 bolts and a simple swap out. it can be a serious PITA getting the bushings out. 3- from my experience youd benefit from a ratchet strap for when remounting the new arms as the axle shifts sometimes. to my knowledge you can use the control arms from a tj, xj and zj and they are all the same. its a pretty simple task.

I got Moog UCA axle end bushings from amazon.com. Found the p/n on RockAuto then shopped around for the best price. To press them out/in, I had the axle completely removed from vehicle, and used a balljoint press where I could, then a long bolt, spacers, washers, etc. and of course a BFH. The balljoint press worked great on the pass. side, but the diff housing on the drivers side really got in the way. I'm not sure how much it helped, but I put the new bushing in the freezer before installing.
