So I am pretty sure I know the answer to this question but I am going to ask it anyways.

I have 2 1986 Chevrolet Trucks, One is 4wd Silverado and the other is a 2wd Custom deluxe.
The 4wd body is rusted out and the 2wd is solid, can I swap over the cab and bed on these trucks pretty easy?? Or is it easier to swap the running gear and leave the bodys the way they are?

My goal is to have a Solid 4wd and a rusted 2wd.

cab mounts are identical
you could swap them in a day with a freind.
ive done it.

I should have mentioned one obvious point...I was assuming both were same beds (long/short)

Plus dual fuel tanks were an option somewhere in those years if one has that and one doesnt ...

They are both Long beds and neither have dual tanks, although I think the bed on the 4wd came off a dual tank cause it has fuel doors on both sides.

I assume there is a cutout under the floor for the 4wd shifter in the 2wd?

I think there were two or three different trans tunnels, the 2WD auto had a different tunnel than the 4WD and 2WD manual I think...? I don't think there's a cutout for the 4WD shifter, so you'll likely need to cut a hole in one cab and patch a hole in the other, or remove and swap tunnels. I don't think that's early enough to have a bolt-in tunnel, so no luck there.

Looks like I'll be cutting a hole!
