hey guys its a 2000 ext cab short bed 6.0 gas truck was driving normal ly and something sounded as if a bomb went off under the truck , nomore drive line action 4-wheel drive or not it will not move under its on power its as if the shafts are un hooked , now with that said you can put it in 4wheel low and reverse and back about 15feet up a hill at half throttle then it quits , its a 4l80e tranny i dont hear any shift noises when going between park r, d or anything got any good ideas?

possible tcase failure. these trucks are prone to blowing the tcase. Crawl up under it with a light and check for holes in the side of the case

Not so much blowing up, as it is wearing a hole through the case, losing fluid, then seizing.

Check the rear axle, gov bomb could have gone off, although that would not be as common on your 14 bolt 9.5" as it is on the 8.5/6" 10 bolts. They have been known to take the trans with it when they go due to the shock.

i have this same truck, i had my tcase adapter split in half once and it made a pretty loud noise, a twisted driveshaft caused it to break. just thought id share good luck finding the problem, hope its not your tcase cause i know around here there not cheap to replace

motivation issues

lol yea they aint cheap and nether is a tranny rebuild thats why i want to dig through this thing and sort it out myself to save a lil cash

tranny trouble

ok guys i just got done pulling the tranny case in that 2500 4x4 chevy its smooth as a whistle now its gotta be either the tranny or the torque converter as i have heard something about these trucks being bad about breaking the ears off the convertor what do ya'll think and how much you reckon its gonna cost to rebuild if it is abroke tranny?
