chevy 44 axles into ford 44?

i was talking to a friend today at work and was wondering if you could take 6 lug axles out a chevy 44 front and put them in a ford 44 front so you could have a driver drop 6 lug axle? i figured you could since they're basically the same axles just different drops. would the knuckles and everything still work too?

reason im asking cause if i ever wanted to do a sas i wanna keep it 6 lug but not have to get a new t case to run a chevy axle.
 
The short side will work.It is a tad bit shorter but it will work fine.The long side is too long.
