For simplicity sake I am running a chevy alternator out of an 80 chevy pickup with a 350, on my toyota based buggy. My question is regarding which connector should I use for my jumper wire. There are two possible connections on the alternator, and as i understrand one causes the alternator to charge at a much higher rate than the other. Does anyone know which connector is which? any help would be apprecialted. Thanks

If simplicity is what you're looking for, I would get a one wire alternator from Summit. They work awesome and you cant hook it up wrong!

Toyota is four wire, and this one only needs 2 to function. My thinking is that 2 is simpler that 4, and I have a lifetime warrennty, so i can exchange it locally if anything ever happens. I already have the alternator, and it is hooked and buggy is running, I just need to know which prong to connect the jumper wire to before I go wheelin next weekend, so i don't overcharge the battery.
