For any and all chevy gurus. i've got an 84 custom delux 2wd longbed, great condition, but would like to put the body on a 74 cheyenne 4wd longbed. can it be done? the chasis and all running gear on the 74 is straight and in good shape but the body is trash. the body mount bushings would change, but would the mounting holes line up? i haven't pulled anything apart yet.

yes it will all work the only problems are that the gas tank hoses are different in which case install the 84s tank and the other different is the rear cab mount is lower and uses the tall rubber bushing. I would if you have the time install the 84 rear cab mount or do what I commonly due is make a custom hig clearence one out of 2x3 box tubing. thanks and take your time.

Thanks for the info. the only other thing i noticed which is small, is the t-case shifter plate. the 74 has one that can be removed from the hump by removing the bolts and breaking the weather seal. just hope it fits in the 84 to help reduce guess work when cutting a new hole for the shifter. Again thanks for the advice, i've been wanting to do this for some time now...

body swap

well if they both removable floor humps it is easy if not just measure the distance down and over and it isn't a big deal. thanks ALex . PM if you have any other troubles.

The 84 has a solid floor pan. i thought if lay the plate from the 74 over it, this might make it easier to measure and cut. what do you think.
