So I was referencing caliper part numbers [autozone, advanced, etc] and here's what I have found.
There are a couple different brake systems: JB8 JB7 and JD7.
JB8 would be the hydroboost setup.
If you lookup calipers only (not a loaded pair of fronts) the part numbers are the same and no system is mentioned.
If you lookup front brake pads there are different ones manufactured for different brake systems (see above systems)
If you lookup loaded front caliper pairs there are two different ones, one for JB8 and one for JB7. I assume right off the bat that the brake pads are the major difference. I hope that assumption is correct. Therefore...
My questions:
Is there any reason that a brake system with hydroboost would have a different front caliper than one without? (if so why does the same part number come up when searching calipers only?)
Is there any harm to running a particular caliper pair if I don't have a hydroboost master cylinder or if I do (I am debating whether or not to do this)?
Next question:
How are the axle tube seals setup on a front chevy d60... Where can I find a part number and purchase these?
I want to put new bearings and seals throughout my axle and will regear it with a master install kit... the master install kit makes mention of carrier bearings but no axle seals... it includes pinion seals though.
