Ok I have an 8 lug Chevy Dana 44 under my jeep. I went to change the axle joints out the other day and the pass. side joint is smaller than the driver side has any one ever seen this?

Which part was smaller, caps? legs? cross? Probably just two different parts store brands. Get the spicer 760x u-joint to replace them as the "Brute Force" and the like are complete :poop:

The 260 joint wouldn't fit joe? Take a caliper and measure the cap diameter and the width of the joint from cap to cap and let me know what it is. Your larger joint on the drivers side should be the 5-297x which has a 1 3/16 dia. cap. If the other side is 1 1/16cap it's gotta be a 260. The only thing is, Chevy never used that joint in a dana 44 axle ford and jeep did. So could it be a Waggy axle shaft that someone swapped in. Their passenger drop axles were similar in length but they were smaller diameter.

I agree I thought I had seen them before also. I thought I was the only one. But I only found info sayin otherwise so I didnt want to misinform based on Info that i couldn't prove.
