On my '94 K1500, the front drive shaft is locked with the front axle and is turning all the time even though the shifter is not in 4x4. I thought nothing locks up until the TC is shifted into 4x4 mode and the electric actuator on the front diff locks the diff???? I noticed it when the front wheels were on the ground and I tried to turn the shaft. Locked up solid. Is this correct? What in the TC and/or diff is being prematurely worn out by this??
The 2001 S10 Blazer seems to be the same but the '93 S15 Jimmy driveshaft is not locked and turning.
