Chevy steering arm removal

Does anyone have any "tricks of the trade" for removing a steering arm from a 1988 chevy Burb front axle? It has the 3 studs with the conical washers....WILL NOT BUDGE

Heat is the only thing that has helped me with those, but you know that "trick". Heat it and whack it has worked in the past though.

BFH you can't hurt it, i can usually get it with 3-4 whacks with the 4lb sledge

I will pour the heat to it this evening. Round one with the 5lb hammer was not successful. Arm -1 Me-0

Heat will help, as long as you don't heat the washers. I've had luck with hitting straight down on it. It seems to cause the arm to bounce up a bit enough to get it started then an air chisle.

Had a lot of luck using a chisel to back the cone washers off, usually they will thread them selves right off.
