I looked into this a while back for my 1985 4runner. The common steel 8 or 10 hole Chevy 17 inch wheel hub bore is too small for the toyota solid axle hub and locking assembly.
Hub hole is too small. You can bore it out, but I would take the wheels to a machine shop along with a hub. Toyotas are hub centric, so the tolerance needs to be really tight.
I've milled out some Escalade rims for a guy running them on a lowered, 2wd, Nissan and they worked out pretty well. Lug pattern is the same, just needs the hub bore opened up. I think it'd look pretty awesome!
