chopping up my xj

hey guys, last season I took a knot on a tree to what im gonna call the D post ( rear window/ hatch) so this summer I'm going to chop it. now i see a bunch of write ups about how to fit a rear hatch as a back window but my xj is caged so thats not an option. I have seen a few guys mount a comanche tailgate which would be awesome, I wouldnt be against using the stock hatch if i could somehow make it work like a tailgate or swing out. Has anybody done this? Any advice would be appreciated and pictures are great! thanks

i have done somthing similar on my xj but without the hatch bc fiberglass just sucks but u could use a hatch off a grand cherokee with some modifications.shoot me your email and i'll send you some pics of mine it may help or give you some idea's??
