In October all of my fly fishing gear was stollen out of a truck in Concord. I had been injured and had to go to the hospital for 11 stitches in my foot. Given that I was bleeding very badly and there was a security guard watching the parking lot, we forgot to lock up the truck. My 3wt 5wt every fly I have ever tied and all my bass fishing gear was stollen. Over 2k I think. It was everything I had accumulated all through high school and college.

I thought it was gone forever but the police caught the guy! I am still shocked and blown away. It was stollen in Concord but recovered in Mocksville. Shout out to the Davie County Sheriff department. Great work.

They were able to identify everything from an expired Colorado fishing license. Crazy. So thankful they do such great work.

Ha..I'd like to know who it was in Mocksville..did they live in Mocksville? Did you get a name?

Glad you got it all back.

didn't hear who it was. They said he is a repeat offender and going in for hard time. My stuff is being held for evidence.
as far as who found it it was LT. Whitesides. Real nice guy.

I know ole Whitesides, He's ok. This probably made it into the local paper...probably a front page story in this little town.

Wow. You always hear the story about the theft, and almost never hear about anyone recovering their stuff. Glad to hear they got the mofo and you're getting your gear back.
