Just got our tree up today. My little girl and I have a tradition of going "hunting" for a tree. Over the years it has become a war in the woods, tracking the tree, interrogations, and finally the kill!

Anyway, which do you have, a real or fake tree?

Real!!!

Just got our first fake tree last wk. I miss the smell of of a real one but that's about it. No watering or picking up after this one and we can use our fireplace again(tree sits near it.

I was totally against the fake tree, but one year we brought a real cut tree in our house and it had some bug eggs on it. Christmas eve we noticed lil black poppy seed looking things on the presents. Thought it was odd, but didn't investigate further. Shortly after Christmas, and I'm talking probably Dec 26th, wife packed up all the ornaments, then it was my turn to haul the tree out. I reached in and grabbed the trunk, it was all cold and slimy. I was like WTF, found the trunk covered in some bug larvae. Wife freaked out, do not pass go, do not collect $200, the tree is going outside via the window...RIGHT NOW.
That was kind of nasty, been fake tree ever since. I miss the smell and the joy (or hassle) of going out and picking just the right tree. Its real nice just setting the fake tree pre-strung with lights, plug it in and start decorating.

is he a big, bad, biblical, big nose, hebrew brotha?
I was actually trying to find a good image for the K.L.F. (Kwanzaa liberation front) but this came up instead.

I always make a Bacon tree every year.

With that being said, your poll is skewed because you left out bacon..

Real tree here.

And this poll appear every year... I was looking forward to Tony's annual bug-tree story. I was actually thinking about that today while putting up our tree, I gave it a good thorough investigation just b/c of him...

Always a real tree!, Even if the first place my family goes to has the perfect one, We have to leave and go somewhere else or two or three. Just something i do for my son to find the perfect one. Just for Memory

Only a real tree. I used to drag a live tree in the house and then plant it afterwards. That gets old after a few years. Now I get cut trees and burn then in a custom Christmas tree burning contraption on New Year's Eve.

I understand the ease and cost effectiveness of a fake tree, but the benefits down outweight the smell and look of the real deal.

While I love real trees (the scent is nice in the house), I bought an extremely nice artificial tree a few years ago and will use it again this year. Everyone that sees it has to do a double-take. Mine is USA made and I picked it up from the factory a few years ago: www.christmasinamerica.com

Fake, since I was a kid and they figured out the reason I was sick every yr. for Christmas before then.

What about the tree made you sick? Just being allergic to them?

have to go with fake the wife is allergic to the tree smell she can't even smell pinesol with out breaking out in hives

Fake for me...I've had both real and fake. With a fake tree, most of the decorating is already done, no daily watering, lower chance of fire, no bugs and no pine needle clean up.

Real as of this year. Haven't had a real tree since I was a little kid. The last 4 years I lived alone and had no tree at all. Now with my fiancé and kid we went and picked out a real tree and had hot apple cider on a hay ride. It was fun and Elena really liked it. Now having it in the house I love the fullness and especially the smell.
