And this pushes me towards just saving for an ARB for the front of the k5. Unless the what mags posted about Yukon lockers cases for cracking or people experiencing locking on only one side is bull.

Just buy a Grizzly, they warranty $2500 in parts/labor if it fails.

They are $517 on amazon shipped, and $393 for 14 bolts.... I haven’t seen a 14 bolt locker under $400 in a long ass time.
