Ive got a 1992 Dodge D150, 2wd with an NV4500. the rear diff is absolutely wailing on the highway and im tired of doing 1 wheel peels in the wet grass. its been over 10 years since i built diffs regularly and i cant remember off hand what the differences are with older and newer Chrysler 9.25s. im looking to get some 3.55/3.73s and a used limited slip (that ill rebuild)
Does anyone know if you can put a newer gear set in an older housing? is it just a difference of bearings or is it something more significant like the hub diameter of the carrier?
can a newer limited slip be put in an older housing?
i see people saying stuff like "09 and up" and i dont know what they are referencing.....
the aforementioned D150 is an absolute $1000 beater mulch hauler so im trying to do this cheap
any help is appreciated!
