So, Sat afternoon at around 2ish I was coming back from Rock Hill on 77N with my empty trailer in tow.

My Dodge has 4.10's and the Cummins was hummin at 60, so I was just cruising letting the cars pass me like I was standing still.

Well I notice out of the corner of my eye, a green/grey two tone exlporer, maybe a 95-96 model, goes by pretty damn fast in the right lane, (I was in the center lane at this point, think we were near Dave Lyle Blvd.)

Anyway, as he is flying by, the LR tire blows(must have been a Firestone..ha ha) Poof! puff of smoke..and he almost looses it right in front of me...I slammed on the brakes expecting some bits o' Explorer to be flying about as he tumbled down the hwy, but the SOB got it back and slowed down to the side of the road..I was like "damn! god job dude" Wow.

well I continued on 77N to Clt, and about 6-7(maybe 8-9, wasnt counting) miles later, the mother F'er passes me again! with (apparently) a new tire on like nothing happened.

How the F did he change that tire THAT fast!!!!????

Must have been Chuck Norris.

*Edit* And it was definatley the same truck, had it not had a Fire Dept. Red/White light bar on top, I would have said No way it was the same truck.

Did something like that once...at the beach, headed up to Shalotte, 3 cars, to go out and eat. Lost a tire (cut down sidewall, 3 day old LTX) coming over the OIB bridge. Changed it, got on up to the restaurant...family didn't believe that we had flat, pulled over, changed tire, and got up there...they had just gotten there five minutes earlier. I was the last of the 3 cars...they didn't know I'd pulled over.

Doesn't take long if you don't mess around. Plus, I keep a small floor jack and 4-way wrench in the back of the truck, so I don't have to mess with the factory stuff up under the hood, and getting the jack from behind the seat.

I'll agree, a tire can be changed real quick. But it's damn impressive to be able to change a tire, and pass someone in under 10 miles. Say the tire change took 4 minutes (from getting out to getting it done and back on the road). You were traveling 60mph, you said it may have been a matter of 9 miles...that leaves 5 miles for the sploder to catch up. Means he would had to have been doing easily 100mph to catch up and pass you.

I was wondering how the math worked out...Wow.

Like I said, i did not take note of the miles, but I was only ON 77 from Exit 75 (Dropped my Civic off at Hon-Doc), and hit 485 to 160, so it couldnt have been much longer.

You ahve never seen my wife and I change a flat. My biddy said it was like watching a NASCAR pit crew. We have done it enough that we can do it in about 5 minutes flat. Takes longer to get the spare out of the truck than to change it.

Now as for him catching up to you. He must have been flying.

I think I wouldv'e told them I changed the oil and did a quick tune up as well. I would be able to do that in the Yota but the problem is catching back up the top speed is 75.

If it were Chuck Norris he would have been passed you while changing the tire. :flipoff2:

Was that a squirrel?:huggy:
