Circuit City going out of business

Yeah. Since they sold out to a liquidation company they will try to get as much as they can out of what's left. The longer you wait, the cheaper things will be.

The electronics industry has taken a huge hit. The manus did it. Whorring out the products to get more sales, the value has went waaaayyy down. Also most of these manufacters have map pricing, which these big box stores never did. Greeed pure greed.

What happens to all my extended warranties that I purchased I guess I just lose them?:poop:
According to what I read - the extended warranties are held by a third party - you should be good.

I on the other hand - haven't filled out a rebate from something that was purchased before the holidays. I haven't figured out what will happen to it.

Are Circuit City's extended warranties affected by the liquidation?
* No. Circuit City Advantage Protection Plans® (extended warranties) have been backed by third-party independent companies for more than 15 years and as a result, are not impacted by Circuit City's closing.
* Currently, all Circuit City Advantage Protection Plans are fully backed by the Assurant Solutions companies. Assurant Solutions operates as Federal Warranty Service Corporation, Sureway, Inc., and United Service Protection, Inc. Assurant Solutions is part of Assurant, Inc. (NYSE: AIZ), and its extended service contacts are backed by an Assurant insurance subsidiary rated A "Excellent" by A.M. Best Co.

Went to the one at Concord Mills earlier this evening. As of today the sales are 10% off tv's, computers, home and car stereo, and any other electronics. All gaming stuff is 10% off as well. DVD's and CD's are 20% off and all furniture and most accessories(cd wallets, chargers, cables, etc...) are 30%off. Not reall any good deals as their prices are high to begin with. As the weeks go on the better deals will come along.
