yea,stupid happens from time to time.The unit I belong to (roughly 200 rifles strong) has a pretty good weapons inspection policy.What I think of pulling a musket and or it's owner out of ranks ain't shiat.The hobbie suffers more from twisted ankles/knees and folks being way out of shape and not heeding to the signs of dehydration and other heat problems.We had ,at the 135th Wilderness ,over 100 reenactors(over all) fall out from heat problems durring the sat. afternoon battle.Seven others had broken bones.
The other insident cited happened 10 years ago at the 135th Gettysburg.The french man had borrowed a pistol from another reenactor and it had not been inspected.
A few years back,an artillery man ramming a round home had it go off on him and if memory serves me correctly,he lost his arm.Mr.Gadget will probably remember that.
