CJ 304 acts like it runs outa gas

i have an 80 model cj7 with a 304, 4barrel carb, once it gets hot it will cut out like running out of gas. I have replaced the sending unit, hoses, fuel pump, fuel filters, ignition module. nothing seems to help. Any help, I'm at my wits end. Thanks in advance

Maybe vapor lock. An old trick is to put wooden clothes pins on the metal fuel lines to absorb the excess heat. My next door neighbor used to do this all the time. I personally have never tried it.
 
I had a very similar problem with the 360 my old CJ7. Turned out to be the distributor. There was just a tiny bit of play in the shaft and caused problems like you describe. Definately check it...
 
You may be right about the distributor thing, I messed with it some last night and moved the distributor just a little. Still not right but doesn't cut out anymore. Will have to keep playing with it. Thanks alot guys
 
Glad that helped! Save yourself the headache and just go pick up a rebuilt one from the auto parts store. I don´t think they are all that expensive:driver:
