I have a 76 CJ-5.

I am looking to bolt the Grille up to the Frame.

( JUST THE FRAME ) no supports. or fenders. yet to bolt up.

Is there a Bushing or mount that the grille sits on?

or does it sit bolted to the frame metal to metal?

and what bolts am I to use?

THIS IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE GRILLE, CENTER in the frame divot area.

Thanks for any help on this.

There should be a small bushing to hold it in. It will flop once you have the radiator on. The fenders and especially the bars that run from the grill to the firewall really hlep support it.

Dan nailed it. The bushing is like 3" diameter, but less than 1" thick, and has a sleeve thru it. It sits on the front frame crossmember. The bolt is around 4" inches long IIRC.

does the jeep have a body lift? If so the lift block will take the place of the body puck.

No body lift.

Any one have a link to where I can get this BUSHING, BOLT kit ?

Thanks all.

ALSO dont plan to put the Radiator on until after the body is mounted to the frame and the cross support bars are in place, But thanks for that info tip. Hooah.

Thanks.

I have bolted it up, and it is standing on its own.

thanks, but there are no other forces to move it, as soon as the tub is painted and mounted then I will install the rod supports.

My Interest was how it was mounted on the frame, if there was a rubber mount or just a bolt and nut assy.

I have my answer, and it works.
