I filled my 84 CJ with premium gas today, finally had the sending unit replaced so the gas guage would work. Twice today I have pools of gas, its intermitent, but scary. It appears to be rumning out of a hooked sharped hard line by the tank/sending unit. Its hot today, is it possible the premium is expanding and overflowing or the sending unit replacement has something to do with it. Wife freaked out with the pool of gas in the garage.

This hard line is coming from the top of the tank I believe, its hooked like a candy cane and is zip tied to another line, but the jeep was in the garage in direct sunlight hitting the tank

Sounds like it's coming out of a vapor vent line if it's a small line. Are all the check valve and evap canister parts intact, or has all that stuff been removed?

It's the "expansion" thing. I've found mine running into the evap tank, & leaking out the bottom of it. I expect it's busted. I just don't fill it all the way, unless I'll be driving it.

It's the rollover / liquid check valve here:
