CJ, guys got a request

I used the Warn winch plate for CJ's. IIRC, its 2 angle brackets that bolt outboard on each frame rail, maybe 2 sleeved bolts thru the rail. Then the winch plate is simply a long C-channel with 4 holes to mount the winch to, then 4 holes (2 per side) that bolt to the angle brackets. The angle brackets point inward, and are barely above the top of rails. There are carriage bolts sticking up thru the angle brackets.

Tater's CJ-7 has a Northern Tool "universal" tray with the ends cut (angled) bolted thru the front frame horns... holding a Warn M8000.

Worked fine this weekend when he dropped the pinion u-joint straps on Daniel

For my [old] Husky Superwinch, I used what I had. Bumper was already there, but had to extend it out 1 1/2". Welded 1/4 angle, to the inside of bumper, flush with top. Laid a flat 1/8 plate, between the bumper[over angle], & on top of frame crossmember. 2 bolts threw the rear of plate, & crossmember.
Then the winch bolts=2 threw the angle & plate/ 2 threw crossmember & plate. The plate, just mainly covers the open space. Welded to uprights in bumper, for the fairlead. Been there for 21 yrs.+!
DANG! No wonder it's worn out.
