I have a CJ-3A, I am in the process of O/H and restoring my Jeep.

I opened up the Rear End and Removed the 4 Bearing Cap Bolts to inspect the bearings and internals.

I am having issues, I need to Re-Torque the the 4 Bolts but can not find the Torque Specks.

Does any one know the Required Torque. ANY and ALL Help Please.

should be a 44 then. My books are out in the shop or i could look it up for you.If not answered when I get home,I'll get it for you.Good to hear you are restoring a flatty.Hopefully you will use her for what she was built for.If you need help with specific items, give me a holler. Jimmy

I have a '47 CJ-2A that I don't do anything with anylonger, but when I was hot on it I found these guys. http://www.willysoverland.com/ They were always very helpful when I had odd questions like the one you asked. I haven't interacted with them in 7 or 8 years. I don't know if things have changed or not. Hope they can help.

Thanks, I am making a MOCK MB out of it, doing all the frame conversions to Adapt to a MB / GPW Tub. Only thing I am keeping the same are the Engine, Tranny and Drive train, all else will be WWII.

Thanks for all the help.

Sgt, You Do Silly War?

If yer gonna mess with the ol' CJs and GPWs, here is an excellent investment. These are the real deal reprints. They cover it all!

Yep,I'm ordnance Sgt. for the 26th North Carolina. We are close to 200 rifles strong.Several of our group do WW2. Mostly British airborn and a few do S.S. also. They just got together a couple of weeks ago at Latta Plantation (North Charlotte) and had a weekend event.Let me know when you wanna stand shoulder to shoulder against your opponants.I can hook a brudder up.

Yea, one of my members went to Latta, as well as our sister Airborne Group.

I had simply run out of money to go to that event, as well as Ammo.

I hate to know I had to support a mg34 or 42 souly on my wallet.A Henry repeater is bad enough and a 12 pound Napoleon is 8 to 10 dollars a pop.Since I now work behind the lines with weapons,I'm normally on stand by when the heat is on to run to either end of the battalion to assist in problems.I'll grab a weapon from one of the "dead" and start picking off officers and nco's when the chips are down.
