Looking to buy a new 4 barrel carburetor for a 78 cj7 304. I dont really want to spend an outragous amount of money on this item. What model and size should i go with to get the best performace for the best price?

If it's for street driving only, I would go with a Holley.
If it's for DD and some mild wheelin. I'd go with either a Holley truck avenger, or a Edlebrock.
If it's for real wheeling, I would go with either propane or a throttle body Fuel injection.

You did say new, but, if you want a really decent carb for wheeling and the road, I would go with a rebuilt, tuned Qaudra-Jet, turned around back wards.

If you are not too stuck with the 4 barrel, a 2100 is another great choice.

The jeep isnt going to be my dd however, i do want to be able to drive it whenever its a nice day and also be used for some very mild wheelin.
Thanks for the info. Any other viewpoints??
