Figured this would be one of the better places to ask about resetting my wife’s CJ7 rear end, it spun the diff on the axle tubes and I have managed to work it back down with some redneck ingenuity.
The plan is to line everything back up and weld on it a good bit.
This rig will stay on 33’s and see only road use 95% of the time so I’m not looking to swap to 44’s or tons yet.
This isn’t the best measurement of angles as I was waiting on a new yoke to come in before removing the driveshaft and revealing some flat spots (ie, yoke flats), but I think I have everything pretty close.
How do these look? I know you are supposed to have them match, it looks like it’s within half a degree but I can keep going if I need to, I’ll also pull the shaft tomorrow when I install the new yoke so I can get more specific. It’s sitting on the shop floor so it should be level.
