CJ7 + tracbar + alignment?

so every jeep i have had/worked on had a tracbar.

well i need to get an alignment done on my 83 CJ7. i am curious as to how that would work without a tracbar?

would i need to get a tracbar fabbed up? thanks for any advice.

what's the problem, something with the tracking between front and rear axles? The only thing factory adjustable is the toe in/out. Caster can be adjusted with offset balljoint bushings, or more commonly different shackles. Camber is fixed, by the knuckles, I suppose you could use offset balljoint bushings to change camber too.
 
no problem, i fixed my problem with the adjustable steering rod. i just went to get an alignment to keep the tires from wearing quickly.....and the guy was in shock that there was no tracbar and said he couldnt do it. hah. anyways i fixed it myself. thanks for the help tony!
 
CJ's never had a trac bar, just a sway bar
 
If you took it to an allignment shop, I would seriously consider not taking ANY thing you own to them!!

He clearly did not know what he was doing!!

Where is this shop?

he also said he wouldnt be able to line up the steering wheel and suggested me going to the local 4x4 shop to get some kind of trac bar fabbed up.

hah.

did you suggest he go back to wyotech and ask how a drag link works? :lol:
