Working on buying a cj7 with a yj tub. Really nice jeep, he is currently looking for the misplaced cj title. The yj tub came from a scrap yard. This leaves nothing but the partial vin on the passenger frame rail which is very legible. Would this be a big concern for anyone? I’m always scared of messing with the DMV. I wish he had kept the vin plate from the old tub. Not that it would be usable on the new but would be good to have. Also the yj vin plate is there but obviously was a junked vehicle.

I would just make sure you have a legit title for the frame and rock out. As long as it's in state it doesn't have to be inspected. It could cause more of a headache selling though.
Kinda my thoughts. I plan to rock it for a bit and sell it if I don’t fall in love lol

Had some fiberglass body CJ's that still has the original vin on the steel steering wheel backing plate thing on the engine side of the firewall. If that's still there and the title matches that then your good
