So I'm selling off an old TP notebook, listed on Craigslist.
I'm pretty sure I have a scammer on the hook here.
Notebook listed as $100.
(btw anybody want an old A21m?)

See below.

Not even a blink at $250 for shipping an 8 lb laptop

So here's the question... what should I do next?
I'd like to see how far this can go. But do I really want to give him my PP ID? Does just having the ID provide some vulnerability?
i know PP isn't FDIC insured so the $$ isn't guranateed anyway. Should I request he send a US postal order instead?

Do you enjoy wasting your time? just curious :)

if I might be able able to waste the time and even ruin the day of a dirtbag scammer, then it's not time wasted.

I tried to screw with a CL scammer and ended up scaring them off. They never replied back.

I've posted my pp info, on here, so folks could send me funds, I am/was under the assumption that it is ok...so if true, give him the info and see where it goes.lol

Give him some bogus e-mail addy and then get pissy when he don't send the money.

make a new pp and dont link any info to it just open the account and see what happends

im not sure which is funnier, that one or the one where they get the nigerian scammer to put the fish on his head and a loaf of bread in his mouth.

That or ask him to Western Union the money to you. He will run from that.

how many times did you reformat it?

and depending on how paranoid you are, it takes 6 or 7 low level formats before the original data is unrecoverable.

i would never western union money to anyone if i was buying there is no way

and i tried to sell a xbox on craigslist and i had someone wanting me to send it to west africa and they were going to pay me 600 dollars for the xbox and 125 for shipping i sent them my paypal account which isnt linked up to my bank account and then i backed out but he told me that paypal had a new way to do things that i had to send him a tracking number and then he had to confirm the tracking number and then the money would be transferd to my account but then i got a little ify on the situation and backed out

I'll buy your xbox, Go ahead and ship it, send me the tracking info and I promise to pay you.

Thats how all the vendors do it .

This is the scam:

He will send you stolen funds. After you ship then Paypal will rip the funds right out of your account and you'll be left empty handed and he'll have a laptop.

Ive done it before, and just had them send the certified check to a PO Box, then waited for the bank to tell me it wouldnt clear... Then I jumped his shit for sending me a bogus check...

I love making them waste time and money...

No, b/c i have intention of actually sending the laptop.

The question here is the best way to screw with him in the meantime.

Re: formatting - it never had anything on it that I care about anybody knowing about. And I cannot sell a laptop wit ha destroyed hard drive.
